At Couno Consultancy, Everything DiSC sits at the core of everything we do. 
We use Everything DiSC to help individuals, leaders, and teams better understand themselves and others, improving communication, collaboration, and performance. 

Our Everything DiSC offering is delivered through facilitated workshops and practical learning experiences, designed to create meaningful, lasting behavioural change. 

What is DiSC? 

Everything DiSC is a simple yet powerful behavioural model that helps people understand how they naturally prefer to work, communicate, make decisions, and interact with others.

It gives individuals and organisations a shared language for understanding behaviour, not labels, and not boxes, but insight that can improve communication, collaboration, and teamwork.  

At its heart, DiSC describes four core behavioural styles: 

  • Dominance (D) – direct, results-focused and driven by action.  

  • Influence (i) – enthusiastic, people-oriented and collaborative.  

  • Steadiness (S) – supportive, dependable and relationship-centred.  

  • Conscientiousness (C) – analytical, precise and quality-focused.

Every person has a unique mix of these styles. No style is better or worse, they simply show natural preferences that shape how people show up at work and in relationships.  

When people understand their own style and the styles of others, teams communicate more effectively, work together more smoothly, and resolve conflict with greater empathy 

Two dimensions of human behaviour 

At its core, DiSC is built on two key behavioural dimensions.

Beneath the four DiSC styles sit two fundamental behavioural dimensions.

The Vertical Dimension  


The vertical dimension reflects a person’s natural pace, ranging from more active and fast-paced to more thoughtful and deliberate. 

People towards the top of the model tend to act quickly and are often seen as assertive, dynamic, and bold. Those towards the bottom prefer a more measured approach and are often described as calm, methodical, and reflective. 

The Horizontal Dimension  


The horizontal dimension reflects what a person tends to prioritise, moving from a more questioning, task-focused approach to a more accepting, people-focused one. 

Those on the left are typically more analytical and sceptical, focusing on logic, objectivity, and challenge. Those on the right are generally more receptive, valuing relationships, collaboration, and understanding others. 

How DiSC Works

Everything DiSC helps people understand how they naturally behave at work — and how that impacts communication, teamwork, and leadership.

It begins with a personalised assessment that highlights behavioural patterns influencing how individuals think, communicate, and respond in workplace situations.

 

This isn’t about labels, it’s about practical self-awareness.

By understanding their own style and recognising others’ differences, teams gain a shared language that reduces misunderstandings and improves collaboration.

DiSC doesn’t ask people to change who they are. Instead, it builds flexibility, helping individuals adapt their approach when needed to improve influence, effectiveness, and working relationships.

In short, DiSC turns insight into practical behaviours that strengthen teams and support confident leadership.

The 12 DiSC Styles 

While DiSC is often described through four core styles, most people are actually a blend of styles.

 

Because of this, Everything DiSC recognises 12 distinct DiSC styles, reflecting the unique ways behaviour shows up in real life. 

For example, someone with a Di style may experience and express Dominance differently to someone with a D style alone, just as an iD style will differ from a pure i style.

 

These blended styles share characteristics with the core styles, while also having their own distinct needs, motivations, and priorities.
